Looking for campsites in Malaga? You’ve come to the right place. At Yellowcar we always try to advise our clients in the best possible way so that their trips around Malaga by car are as pleasant as possible. And of course, rest and the right choice of accommodation.
One of the great assets of the province are the campsites. Whether you are looking for campsites in Malaga beach or inland, we have selected for you a list with some of the best campsites. There are campsites to suit all tastes and budgets. Yes, there are also cheap campsites in Malaga, and they are an excellent option not only in summer, but all year round!
As you’ll see, almost all of them are outside the capital of the Costa del Sol, so if you don’t have a car, renting a car in Malaga as soon as you arrive in the province of Boquerón, so you can move wherever and whenever you want, is the best option. Holidays, camping and freedom, what more could you ask for?
Camping Parque Ardales
Are you familiar with the Caminito del Rey? I’m sure it does. And if not, it’s time for you to get to know it and walk it properly. And for a break nearby, Camping Parque Ardales is a golden opportunity to be the starting point of this itinerary of wooden walkways nailed to the walls of the Desfiladero de los Gaitanes.
A large camping area and cosy flats in the middle of the forest are already waiting for you for your next trip to Malaga. As if that wasn’t enough, this complex is directly linked to the El Chorro reservoir, right at the entrance to the Caminito del Rey, a perfect connection between path and dip!
Camping Sierra de las Nieves
The Sierra de las Nieves Nature Reserve, now declared a National Park, forms an idyllic and unique landscape in an exceptional setting.
To the east of the Serranía de Ronda, this area that mixes abrupt rock formations and reddish-tinted mountains is a paradise for speleology and nature lovers. If you want to visit it and stay for a few days, there is nothing better than to go to the town of Yunquera, also famous for being one of the epicentres of the Malaga Copper Forests in autumn.
This is where you will find this accommodation, a Sierra de las Nieves campsite with a wide range of accommodation and numerous facilities that have been lovingly designed for the youngest members of the family.
Hiking and nature with places of interest around such as Júzcar (the smurf village), Ronda, the Caminito del Rey or Ardales Beach, the only inland beach in Andalusia with Blue Flag.
Camping El Sur
There are many things to see in Ronda, a small town that oozes grandeur and beauty on all four sides. The Tajo de Ronda under the New Bridge, the small palaces, the Arab vestiges, its charm… There is a lot to see. And to get to know it in detail, you can stay at Camping El Sur, on the outskirts of one of the most visited places in Spain… but with all the peace and quiet that comes from being surrounded by olive trees, centuries-old holm oaks and almond trees. The little ones always have a great time on the mini-golf course!
Camping Genal
Following the thread of the Sierra de las Nieves National Park and its surroundings, such as the Sierra de Grazalema, the charming villages of Genalguacil, Benaoján and Júzcar or the Serranía de Ronda, the Camping Genal tourist complex is located in Algatocín.
It is named after one of the best preserved rivers in Malaga, and this is one of its distinguishing features. Nestled in a natural setting of great beauty, just a few steps away you can cool off, never better said, in the Charco Redondo, a small freshwater beach.
Camping La Bella Vista
Bordering the first and excellent beaches of Cádiz, we find Camping La Bella Vista (Alcorrín-Manilva).
Next to Los Toros beach, from its large pitches you can enjoy a comfortable and peaceful stay, perhaps having a drink and dinner at its beach bar with views of the Mediterranean. You will also be able to discover very interesting places nearby, such as the beautiful town of Casares, the Roman Baths of La Hedionda, the fortress of La Duquesa or the marina of the same name.
Camping Almayate Costa
Very close to the Laguna Playa Campsite, in the neighbouring coastal town of Almayate, we come across the Almayate Costa Campsite.
The direct access to the dark sandy beach, practically untouched and surrounded by crops, is its hallmark. This first class campsite has different swimming pools, a restaurant where you can enjoy local dishes -aguacate and mango by the flag-, sports courts, children’s playground or entertainment shows for all ages, among other attractions.
And also very close to Camping Almayate Costa you will find another very well known place: Camping Almanat. The reason? Its popularity among naturists. It is, in fact, a naturist campsite, one of the few in Andalusia, and also enjoys all the services, including direct access to one of the few nudist beaches in the province of Malaga.
Camping Laguna Playa
Let’s go now to the Axarquia. In Torre del Mar, between beaches and espetos, we can enjoy a very charming natural area such as the Paraje Natural de la Desembocadura del Río Vélez, a wetland that delights ornithology lovers. And right next to it, an “isolated” beach, one of the most popular in Torre, which stands out for its dog-friendly atmosphere. Sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, the ‘noise’ and silence of summer bliss at Camping Laguna Playa sounds even better.
Fantastic swimming pools, children’s playground, Aquagym or Zumba classes, workshops for the little ones with balloon twisting or gymkhanas, etc. In short, a very family-friendly place that everyone will love. Without a doubt, if you are planning to travel to Malaga with children, this is an option to take into account.
Cabopino Campsite
Any list of the best campsites in Malaga has to include Camping Cabopino. Right on the spectacular Cabopino Beach, surrounded by dunes, this is a real oasis on the coast of Marbella.
Specifically, the Artola Dunes, a protected natural area, are what give shelter to this campsite with large plots for caravans and tents, 60 bungalows, its own adventure circuit, climbing wall and zip line, close to great golf facilities, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, activities of all kinds for children and adults, events… Well, it is considered the best campsite on the Costa del Sol for a reason. Who can give more?
Selwo Lodge Hotel
This camping-hotel, in the heart of Selwo Aventura Estepona, is a must for animal lovers, to enjoy the countryside and the open air, and contemplate the hundreds of wild animals that roam the immense surrounding grounds.
Selwo has 3 different types of villages: Zulu, Watu and Masai, perfectly set, with 5, 13 and 10 cabins respectively and located in different parts of the park. Private terrace, jacuzzi and in summer, swimming pool.
Very close to the site, less than a kilometre from Selwo Aventura, is the Parque Tropical campsite, one of the best rated campsites in Malaga. One of the perfect places to go with children in Malaga.
La Sierrecilla Campsite
The southern and coastal area of Malaga is the most famous and popular, but the northern part of the province, bordering Cordoba, also enjoys incredible landscapes.
Antequera and its splendid religious and civil heritage, the Torcal, the Lagunas de la Ratosa, Campillos or Fuente de Piedra… Close to all this is Camping la Sierrecilla, which has a huge swimming pool, restaurant, sauna and multi-adventure area, and where you can stay either in a camping area or in mobile-homes, bungalows or wooden cabins. It is also a campsite with excellent reviews and ideal for visiting with family or friends.
