The Marenostrum Fuengirola Festival: a unique venue
It is no exaggeration to say that the Marenostrum Fuengirola Festival is the best open-air venue in Europe for live music.
On the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, all the stars want to shine in this venue listed as an Asset of Cultural Interest for its archaeological remains dating back to Phoenician times, and with an unbeatable location right on the beach.
Marenostrum Fuengirola was born in 2016 as a commitment to culture and live music, and is divided into two spaces:
- The Sohail Castle, an 11th century medieval fortress with more than 1,000 years of history behind it, is transformed into a concert stage with a maximum capacity of 2,400 people standing.
- The hillside of the Castle, where the main stage is located, capable of holding up to 18,000 spectators, with the Mediterranean and the moon as a backdrop.
In terms of services, the venue has four entrances for the public and is divided into catering areas with food trucks, bars at the different entrances, 18 VIP boxes, toilets with cleaning by use (managed by AFUENDIS, an association that takes in people at risk of social exclusion).

How to get to Marenostrum Fuengirola
Here is the location: https://goo.gl/maps/wviJY7gDYHvNLi1N9
Getting to Marenostrum Fuengirola by car is the easiest way to get there, as from the A7, the motorway that crosses Andalucia from one end of the coast to the other, you will see the Sohail Castle. As a tip, from YellowCar we recommend parking in the public car park of the Miramar shopping centre, which is located about 500 metres from the site. The Sohail Castle car park is also available, but it is quite limited and in summer it tends to fill up with tourists.
By public transport, the C-1 commuter train runs between Fuengirola – Benalmádena – Torremolinos and Málaga, although you should bear in mind that the last train to Málaga leaves Fuengirola at 23:20, and that you have more than half an hour’s walk to the station. For convenience and greater freedom, it is more interesting to go by private car. If you come to the Costa del Sol and want to rent a car in Malaga to enjoy the summer to the fullest, here you will find the best deals.
